GETTING NEAR TO GRETNA

Started at Eskdalemuir today and did a good 9.5 miles along the Esk valley and then over the top towards Lockerbie. Glorious sunny day, if a bit hazy, with some very pretty views. Walked in shorts for the first time this year - looked stupid with my big, new, heavy boots! Jane walked the first bit with me but then she got blisters! Hoping to hear the RLPO in Carlisle tomorrow night - it will be great to meet up with old friends. Should hit the border on Sunday so hope to celebrate that night. Join us if you can.
